Navigation icons

When you log in to Asset Essentials you will see menu icons that link to the various aspects of the program on the side of the page. When clicked, some of the icons will further break down into sub menus. *Note: The menu icons that display depend on your user role. You may not see all of the options below.

Dashboard - The Asset Essentials Dashboard provides you with a quick way to see the status of various items that may be important to you. After logging into your Asset Essentials account, the first screen that you see is your Dashboard. The Dashboard can be customized to show just those things that are important to you.   Calendar - The Calendar will show all scheduled work on either a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. You can also access the Planner tool from this icon to help manage your team's work load.   Map - The Map icon is where you can use the Esri map feature to view and create work orders, as well as view your GIS layers.   Work Orders - The Work Orders icon is the central location for creating, managing, and closing work orders, including PMs.   Assets - The Assets icon is the central location for creating and managing your Asset inventory.   Parts & Purchase Orders - The Parts & POs icon is where you track usage and cost for any Parts and supply use.   Admin - The Admin icon is where you can customize and configure your Asset Essentials account. *Note: This option will only display for Administrators.

User menu

Click on the user account icon () and a drop down menu will appear showing several choices to configure your preferences within Asset Essentials.

• My Profile - This menu item allows you to view and/or change several aspects of your profile, including: your contact information, your default page views, your ability to receive mobile notifications, and any custom settings specific to your account.
• My Password - Clicking this menu item will allow you to update your password. A valid password should be 6-20 characters in length and include each of the following: a capital letter, a lowercase letter, a number, and a special character. *Note: If your organization purchased Asset Essentials on July 17th, 2019 or later, you will use the new Dude Universal Login platform to change your password. A valid password on the Universal Login platform should be 8 or more characters in length and include at least one number or one special character.
• My Reports, My Charts, My KPIs - These menu options allow you to identify reports, charts, and key performance indicators that are important to you and that you wish to see on your dashboard. *Note: These options may not display depending on your user role.
• Logout - Click this link to exit Asset Essentials.

 

Dashboard

The Asset Essentials Dashboard provides you with a quick way to see the status of various items that you may need to keep track of. The Dashboard has elements to show work order status, messages, charts, KPIs, and saved reports. It can be customized to show items that are important to you.

 

Resource center and tool tips

Resource Center

The Asset Essentials Resource Center gives you access to product walkthroughs and short training guides right in the product.

• Click on the Info icon () at the bottom right corner of the screen to open the Resource Center.

  • Click Guided Walkthroughs to access short step-by-step tutorials in the product.

  • Click What's New to see recent releases and enhancements that have been added to Asset Essentials.

  • Click Help Site to open the Asset Essentials help site in the Resource Center window.

 

Tool tips

Throughout the Asset Essentials application, you will see small info icons next to certain fields throughout the application.

• Hover over the icon to learn more about that feature.

• You can progress through the guide or dismiss it to come back later.
